Update on Summer 10-13-14 I first want to thank everyone for all the support you have been to our whole family, without each and everyone one of you we would not have been able to make this trip happen. You have shown our family so much love and encouragement. Summer, Emma and I will be leaving this Sunday for MDA once again. This is the trip we all have NOT been looking forward to, Summer will start early Monday morning with the collection of her blood, then onto her pre-assessment for her PIC line, then a chemo teaching class followed by some chest X-rays then another nursing assessment consult, then to a Pain Management Doctor. (All this before 3:00) On Tuesday morning she will get her PIC line insertion then onto the actual infusion which will last for 4 hrs. If all goes well we will be sent home with fluids running in her IV. She will repeat this infusion step for 4 more days ( a total of 5 treatments in a row). Next she will return to MDA a minimum of 3 times a week to check her blood work for the next two weeks. Then she starts her infusion all over again. This will last at least 1 year. Our faith in The Lord to heal her is what we as a family will be holding onto strongly. Along with her determination to be in that 20% survival. Again, Our family can not thank everyone enough we love each and everyone of you and appreciate you more than you will ever know. Carole
