Update on Tom. I apologize in advance for the lengthy post. Today was supposed to be Toms last day of chemo, but it didnt happen. We met with the doctor beforehand and Tom told him about his extreme shoulder pain. Apparently blood clots are a side effect of chemo, so we were sent to Hattiesburg Clinic for Tom to get a CT scan. The CT scan was not readable so we were sent to nuclear medicine for a VQ scan. After spending five hours in the radiology department, we headed back to the Cancer center. The VQ scan showed no blood clot, thank God. Sadly, it was too late for Tom to get his chemo, as it takes 3 hours for the infusion and it was just a little more than an hour before the Cancer Center closed. It was such a long and exhausting day that Tom is already asleep. Were going back tomorrow to get his last treatment.
