Update on my daughter Ikeja: Ikeja was released from the - TopicsExpress

Update on my daughter Ikeja: Ikeja was released from the hospital today. Good News: She’s feeling and doing much better than before. Her heart is healthy. She can speak, walk, do most things herself. SHE’S HOME!!! She sleeps a lot. Not so Good News: Ikeja has been through a horrible ordeal these past four days and is still going through it, it will be a new journey for sure. She is at High Risk for one year, which means if she faints, trips or falls on her head or something that jolts her brain hard enough she can die or have severe total brain injury. This is a high concern to the Dr’s because she has had fainting episodes since she was child and no one knows why. At this time, they don’t know if the damage to her Left Frontal Lobe is Permanent or Temporary. Only time will tell this. They need to wait 3 to 4 weeks for more of the swelling to go down to see what other types of brain deficits are there from the injury. The frontal lobes are considered our emotional control center and home to our personality. I will include a link that explains all that is housed and may be affected in this part of the brain, for those who are interested in knowing. Currently, Ikeja is experiencing, very bad headaches quite naturally, pain in her right eardrum, and she experiencing “Emotional Lability” Mood Swings and Episodes of Anger which is expected with injury to this area of the brain. Other things that can come with this is, uncontrollable crying and laughter and more of what’s listed in the link I provided. She still has issues of remembering what happened and everything that has happened after this. We have to tell her repeatedly what has happened to her brain. We thank each of you with all of our hearts for all of your love, your prayers, Positive intentions, words, healing energies and healing visualizations and advice. We thank you for your continued love and support more than words can say. Here are a couple of quotes that I found in an old journal that I was reading to myself at her bedside from one of my favorite shows, “Grey’s Anatomy” that hit home for me at this time: “Do you know who you are? Do you know what happened to you? Do you want to live this way? It only takes one person, one moment to change your life forever, to change your perspective, to color your thinking, to force you to re-evaluate everything you think you know, to make yourself ask the toughest questions: Do you know who you are? Do you understand what has happened to you? Do you want to live this way? Whenever we think we know the future even for a second, it changes. Sometimes the future changes quickly and completely, and we’re left only with the choice of what to do next. We can choose to be afraid of it, to stand there trembling, not moving, assuming the worst that can happen, or we step forward into the unknown and assume it will be Brilliant!!!” ~Grey’s Anatomy~ I choose to BE Brilliant as we step forward into the unknown!! So much Gratitude, Love & Light to all!!!
