Update on my father, James Howard. They are slowly trying to ween him off of the ventilator. They have been turning it off for a few hours a day, and replacing it with a trach mask (which i believe is like an oxygen mask, but im not positive). So far he has been doing well with that. They also put a more permanent dialysis catheter in threw the top of his chest. They have moved him to a different ICU room, one with a window, to make him more comfortable and to try to help the delirium so he gets a better feel for night and day. Right now he is scheduled to be moved to a long term care facility on monday. We are not sure where or what time yet, but i will post when we find out. We love you and miss you dad. Just keep fighting and getting stronger!
