Update on our Kate: Last night Katy had a rough time. Yesterday - TopicsExpress

Update on our Kate: Last night Katy had a rough time. Yesterday she was on 8mL of oxygen, and we have been updated that last night she was in respiratory distress and had to move the settings of her biPap to match the increased oxygen needed. Unfortunately Katy is in a lot of discomfort (fine, shes in pain...we hate to even say that because it makes us hurt for her, in a way we arent ready to accept), and her CO2 levels are back up. This is where we plead with you. You all knew it was coming, we are sure of that. Katy needs new lungs right now. Today. Scratch that, she needed them a month ago. Yesterday she decided she would spend Christmas in the hospital, and hope the call came while there. You know, going home means you are no longer at the top of the list, and quite frankly she cant afford to not be at the top. As much as Kate wants to be home with her Husband, Parents, Siblings, Nieces and Nephews, Cousins, and In-Laws (and dare we forget her little girl, Chloe), she has said she is anxious, short of breath, really uncomfortable, and quite frankly wouldnt feel safe at home. Let that sink in, as you sit at your computer, Starbucks in hand, holiday music seeping through your stereos, wishing it was 5:00 so you could drive home to your own space and relax. We all have a lot to be thankful for this Holiday Season, and we should all be paying it forward in some way, to someone in need (like Katy). The truth is, Katy pays it forward to us each and every single day. She smiles when she hurts, she laughs so WE dont cry, and she continues to inspire us as she fights to hang on just a little bit longer, while she waits patiently for her lungs to come. While we cant truly understand the physical and emotional pain that Katy is enduring, we have the ability to try to make life better in SOME way right now by taking a time out and creating new #OOMPHFORKATY signs. Show her we all love her, support her and are right behind her praying if we are prayers, hoping if we are hopeful, wishing if we are wishers and pleading if we are pleaders. Bombard her Facebook with alerts, and love and well wishes that she has the support of all of us, those that dont even know her are sending #OOMPHFORKATY. As always, we ask that you hold her future donor, and their family, in your thoughts and prayers for the coming days as they soon will become OUR Katys miracle. BECOME AN ORGAN DONOR this Holiday Season. Let that be the gift you leave when you are no longer in the physical world. TO find out how, please visit: donatelife.net.
