Update on our awesome EARL :D from his temporary foster mom Jackie: Earl is doing well since major surgery on his femur just over 2 weeks ago. He went back to Dr. Clark on Friday for a recheck. Dr Clark is pleased with Earls recovery...it is healing exactly the way it is supposed to. Now the next challenge for Earl is getting him to use his leg. I am now walking him very slowly for 15 minutes 2 times a day and doing 5 -10 minutes of physical therapy on his leg. We have to walk slowly because Earl loves to go fast and hops along never using his leg. When we walk slowly he almost has to put his foot down to balance. His injury was so long ago, Earls muscles on that leg have atrophied. This recovery will be a long process. Earl is an amazing patient and I have full confidence that he will make a full recovery. He will soon be ready for his foster/forever home. Life lesson we can learn from Earl: Never be ashamed of a scar. It means you were stronger than whatever tried to hurt you. -- Unknown
