Update – I met with the surgeon this morning. The initial biopsy report is that the tumor is non-malignant. The surgeon has cautioned us that this is very preliminary and that this biopsy is the result of a very small scope taking two or three very small bites out of a mass that measures three centimeters. He cautions that it could still be a malignancy of some kind and, of course, is most concerned about and suspicious of melanoma which I had in 2010. Nevertheless, the plan has not changed. It is the source of the bleeding and must be removed. Surgery will be Friday at York Hospital, York, Pennsylvania. I do not yet have a time. Due to the fact that the tumor is actually in a “good spot,” the surgeon indicated that the surgery will only take two to three hours at the most. I will most likely be hospitalized four or five days. Our son, Jonathan, is flying up from Mississippi Wednesday evening to be with Beth through Saturday afternoon. We are thankful for good news so far, and the peace and confidence that God has given as we continue this journey. Your prayers for Beth and me, for Jonathan as he travels, for the medical personnel involved, and for my surgeon, Dr. Dennis Johnson, will be much appreciated. I will update as I am able. Thank you again for all your kind words, thoughts, and prayers! Higher than the mountains that I face; Stronger than the power of the grave; Constant through the trial and the change. One thing remains: His love never fails; it never gives up; it never runs out on me!
