The recovered items included gold, diamond and silver jewellery, clothing, mobile handsets, laptops and other electronic devices. “This initiative, to create awareness among people when crimes are solved, was started by retired DGP Ajai Kumar Singh to build faith in the police. The police are no James Bonds to solve a crime immediately. It takes persistent hard work and some luck to solve crimes. Efforts in recovering stolen property should be appreciated,” said Om Prakash, DGP&IGP, Home Guards. 1,000 Home Guards for City About a thousand more Home Guards will be deployed to the city police force, said Om Prakash. “Priority is always given to the Bangalore police force when it comes to providing Home Guards.
