Updated : 2014-08-17 09:10 The Korea Times Pope to meet Asian bishops, youths on fourth day of Korean trip 교황, 오늘 아시아주교단 접견·청년대회 폐막미사 집전 Pope Francis will meet Asian bishops and lead a closing Mass for an Asian Catholic youth festival at a sanctuary area in a provincial city located south of Seoul on Sunday, the fourth day of his Korean visit. About 70 Asian bishops, including 19 South Koreans, will take part in the meeting with the pope at Haemi Martyrs Shrine in Seosan, 151 kilometers south of Seoul, organizers said. After giving an address in English before the bishops, the pontiff will have a luncheon with them. In the evening, the pope will celebrate a Mass that wraps up the sixth Asian Youth Day at nearby Haemieupseong Fortress, an old army post during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) where some 1,000 Catholics were executed for their faith. Some 6,000 young Catholics from 22 Asian countries, including South Korea, are participating in the festival, which began on Wednesday. Before heading to Seosan, the pope will start the day by baptizing the father of one of the children killed in Aprils ferry disaster at the Vatican Embassy in Seoul, where he is staying during his Korean visit. Lee Ho-jin, a 56-year-old father who lost a son in the ferry sinking, asked the pope to baptize him when the pontiff privately met with him and a dozen others who lost their loved ones in the tragedy before a Mass at Daejeon World Cup Stadium on Friday, according to the organizing committee of the papal visit. The 6,825-ton Sewol ferry, carrying an estimated 476 people aboard, sank in southwestern waters on April 16. A total of 294 people have been confirmed dead and 10 are still missing, with most of the victims high school students on a field trip to the southern resort island of Jeju.(Yonhap) 교황, 오늘 아시아주교단 접견·청년대회 폐막미사 집전 프란치스코 교황은 방한 나흘째인 17일 충남 서산시 해미에서 아시아 주교단과 청년들을 잇달아 만난다. 프란치스코 교황은 이날 오전 해미 순교성지 성당에서 아시아 주교단 50여 명과 한국 주교단 19명을 만날 예정이다. 아시아 및 한국 주교단과의 만남은 낮 기도와 아시아주교회의연합회 의장 오스왈도 그라시아스 추기경의 환영사, 교황의 영어 연설, 주교단 접견에 이어 오찬이 예정돼 있다. 교황은 오후에는 해미읍성에서 아시아 청년 6천여 명과 한국 천주교 신자 3만여 명이 참석한 가운데 열리는 제6회 아시아 가톨릭청년대회 폐막미사를 집전한다. 아시아 청년대회 폐막미사는 본기도와 강론, 사도신경, 보편지향기도, 성찬기도, 영성체 예식, 감사 인사, 차기 아시아 청년대회 개최지 선포, 축복 기도 및 강복 등으로 진행된다. 프란치스코 교황은 해미읍성에 도착해 카퍼레이드를 통해 참석자들을 만난 뒤 미사를 집전할 계획이다.
