Digital Photography and Photoshop Class Schedule December 2014 - May 2015 Arts and Crafts Center, Building 52008, Arizona Street, Fort Huachuca, AZ Instructor: Heather Bird Stop by or call to register: 533-5550 (open Tues-Sat noon to 5pm) Class fees due at the time of registration · Beginning Digital Photography classes are for DSLR users (or any camera that can adjust aperture/shutter/ISO). Both Beginning Digital Photography and Beginning Photoshop classes include two 2-hour classes for $40. · Photowalks are for all levels and are an opportunity to advance your skills and get one-on-one instruction. · If you want to take Digital Photography or Photoshop as a refresher, you can take it again for free. Lets get those cameras off Auto! Sunday, December 14, 9 a.m. - noon Twilight Portraits Photowalk This photowalk is an opportunity to give back to the seniors and veterans of our community. Well set up a studio at Via Elegante Assisted Living center and take formal portraits of the residents -- with or without their families. We will provide each resident with one 8x10 and two 5x7 portraits that they can give as holiday gifts to their families. Instruction will be provided on camera settings and posing. Open to five photographers. No cost. Maximum class size: 5 students ages 16 & above. Wednesday, January 21 & 28, 6-8 p.m. Beginning Digital Photography Topics covered include aperture, shutter, ISO, focusing, composition, metering, histogram, white balance, and lighting. Bring your camera with a fully charged battery and your manual. $40 per person. Maximum class size: 10 students ages 16 & above. Sunday, February 8, 9 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. Photowalk to the Reid Park Zoo, Tucson Journey behind the scenes at the Reid Park Zoo and discover the rewards and challenges of caring for over 500 exotic animals every day. During this private behind the scenes tour, we will learn how to deal with shooting through cages and glass, tricky lighting and taking action shots of moving animals. If possible, bring a telephoto lens. $20 per person for instruction. $25 Zoo entrance & behind the scenes tour. (Children under 16 must be accompanied by non-student parent or guardian.) $5 for round trip van transportation (optional and available to only 8 students/guests). $50 total Maximum class size: 10 students ages 16 & above, 7 guests. Meet at the Arts & Crafts Center at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Feb 18 & 25, 6 - 8 p.m. Beginning Photoshop Bring two photos on a flash drive to the second class. Students may bring their own laptop with Photoshop or Photoshop Elements loaded. $40 per person Maximum class size: Ten students ages 16 & above. (Eight in-house computers available.) Sunday, March 8, 12:30 p.m.- 3:30 p.m. Photowalk to the Cochise College Rodeo at Wren Arena Get up close and personal at the college rodeo! Well take action shots of rodeo events and also capture pictures of the cowboys and cowgirls with their animals behind the scenes. Bring a telephoto lense & monopod if you have it. $25 per person. Maximum class size: 10 students ages 16 & above. Saturday, March 28, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Beginning Digital Photography Topics covered include aperture, shutter, ISO, focusing, composition, metering, histogram, white balance, and lighting. Saturday to Sunday, April 25 – 26 Grand Canyon Photowalk Shoot the sunset and sunrise on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Double occupancy hotel within the Grand Canyon and transportation included. Schedule and price TBD. Maximum class size: Six students Saturday, May 16, time TBD Photoshoot and Photoshop Photowalk Will include an on location shoot followed by Photoshop instruction. Must have attended Photoshop classes at the Arts & Crafts Center or be well versed in Photoshop, including adjustment layers and masking. $25 per person. Maximum class size: 10 students ages 16 & above. Wednesday, May 20 & 27, 6 - 8 p.m. Beginning Photoshop Bring two photos on a flash drive to the second class.
