Updates on Jasan Sangma Two days old in the ward, Jasan has shown tremendous improvement in recovery. Of course sign of weakness are apparent and voice continue to be feeble. Edema / Oedema - fluid retention in the body which causes swelling in the feet and ankles is the main problem for him at the moment. It generally happens post cardiac surgery so nothing to panic doctors assured but will take days may be weeks to get back his body in shape for which he needs regular exercise such as walking. At the moment, hes learning to lift up his legs, arms etc and little walking under the watchful eyes of physiotherapists. Praise God that certain things he started doing by himself like eating, controlling TV remote. Very eager to get back to normal life, hes pushing himself to do hand and limb exercises all by himself. Still painful from the surgery he shared but such a strong and determined boy he is, hardly complaint for anything enduring the pain all by himself. May God give him the strength and courage to endure whatever pain and agony he has to bear in the road to complete recovery. As per as diet is concerned its almost normal now. One of the surgeons behind Jasans transplant Dr.Bhagirath (in pic with Sane Cb Sangma) shared the other day that he was so happy for Jasan that he got a fresh and strong much needed heart which fits in perfectly. At the moment, he mentioned its working fine in his body and his heartbeat, oxygen level and blood pressure are excellent. But to avoid infection, visitors are discouraged and the hospital prefers that Jasan remain in isolation for his own good and speedy recovery. A hospital attendant in shift basis monitor Jasan 24x7 in the ward and patient attendant at the moment his mother Sane too need to take full protections and shes advised not to leave the room unless important. Dont know how long Jasan will be kept in the hospital and what we gather from the hospital minimum a month and half considering earlier couple of similar transplants this year from the hospital source. But all depends on individuals they added. So continue to uphold Jasan, Sane and all the attendants / physiotherapists who are working hard on Jasan to get him back to normal life
