Upon cleaning out some of my files this afternoon, I stumbled across this piece I wrote dated October 5, 2009.The timing of this find is by no coincidence. I was going through some tough times and this writing reflected that. I felt compelled to share with my FaceBook friends..Some may skip this and that is okay. It doesnt have a cute picture that often catches the eye of the FaceBook roamer but this message will hit the people it is intended for... I needed it today. Abraham Lincoln once said, I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction I had nowhere else to go. We live in a fallen world that frequently drives us to that very place. It is during times of great pain and sorrow that we find ourselves falling to our knees in prayer, asking God to help us cope. We have all felt this kind of pain in our lives at one time or another and the bottom line is, when we are in the depths of despair, we feel miserable. God never said our world would be without heartache but we must trust in the fact that God knows every minute we are hurting for He feels the same pain with us. God is all powerful, all knowing and everywhere. He knows every moment of our lives and with this in mind, God has a specific plan for each one of us. His plan is to give us a future with a hope. This doesnt necessarily mean that everything in our lives will be good but it does mean that He will be our comfort during any challenge we face. When we are caught in a storm, He helps us rise above the rough waters and it is during these times that we grow and gain wisdom. We can actually use this adversity to strengthen our character. Always remember that FAITH plays the most significant role when we are filled with grief. It is what sees us through lifes adversities. Without FAITH, we only experience greater anguish. FAITH doesnt eliminate hurt but it definitely lessens it. Let us not be discouraged by the trials we face. Let us use them as building blocks to create a solid character foundation. When we abandon the victim mentality, and become victors, we can move forward in life, fullfill our dreams, meet our goals, achieve success and most importantly find personal peace. When your faith is tested your endurance has a chance to grow. For when your endurance is fully developed, you will be stronger in character and ready for anything. James 1:3-4
