Saturday, November 02, 2013 SPIRIT MEAT daily devotional by Rev. & Rev. (Mrs.) Olusola Ayodele Areogun (Dream Centre of the Life Oasis International Church). Helpline: +234-80-372-521-24 TOPIC: Work To Learn Not To Earn (2) Philippians 4:9, Proverbs 24:3-4 I will continue from where I stopped yesterday and go further in this study of working to learn and not just earning. How many multi-millionaires do you know who didn’t go to school? How many formerly educated people can you name that are extremely successful? The reason is knowledge is not the thing that wins, knowledge is very important but that is not the goal. Knowledge is like you having three stools in a dark room; if you enter the room without any light you can hit your knee against them and injure yourself. Yet that is a fact that is to bless you but it’s wounding you. You stumbled against them because you didn’t see them. You didn’t only see them, you didn’t see how they are connected to one another – how they are related to one another so you couldn’t use them. Proverbs 15:2 says “The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness”. In Proverbs 4:7; Solomon said also that wisdom is the principal thing. Wisdom is the supernatural ability that enables man to use facts that are available generally aright. You can be using knowledge wrongly, but wisdom cannot happen until understanding takes place. Understanding is like a man entering this room with light and he says whao! So this one is here, that one is here, this is how they are connected. It can be something happening now or in the past. Look at Joseph in Genesis 50:20 saying, “You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good.” Suddenly! understanding rose up inside of him and he connected what his brothers did for him thirteen years earlier to what God did for him by making him the prime minister and what is God’s intention. He saw the link and said, oh! Listen, God did it to save much people. You don’t need to beg for forgiveness, you are just tools in the hands of God. He was able to finally connect all the events of his life together in God’s purpose for him. What can you see in your own life? That will determine what will be your final outcome in life. Regularly you should ask for God to enlighten your eyes of understanding according to Eph. 1:15-18 (Read please). It is well with you in Jesus’ name. Prayer: Lord, let your light shine upon every dark corner of my life so I can see the big picture of what you are doing. Thank you Lord
