Upon reflection on the International Blues Challenge: had a fantastic time performing and making connections ( HUGE) , we made it to the semifinals ( which is also HUGE if you sit and think about it, out of 250 international bands?!...saaaayyy Whhhaaaat ?! ) , we did not advance to the finals as much as we wanted to....(just not in the cards this time) great time seeing the city , wonderful food, nice people, talented bands, hanging with most of the florida bands like* David Shelley, JoshThe Pitbullof BluesRowand, Rockin Jake, Nico Wayne Toussaint ( you all are the definition of awesomeness) .......* *Big thanks to the guys in my band: you all played your heart and souls out and let it all out and for this I cant thank you enough...amazing guys and musicians. * *Big thanks to our friends and loved ones for the support there too... also hanging with all of the great bands in our venues...so so many talented bands, hanging with the South Florida Blues Society peeps, Huge thanks to the Orange Blossum Blues Society for bringing us up there ( ya;ll wouldve been proud of us and thanks so much for eveything) *BIG Congrats to all of the winners and finalists of the IBC ( you all deserved it) :) ...who knows what the judges and blues folk want as winners. I knew this going into the contest..but who you ultimately play for ....and meet ..is the fans and friends you see, share stories with, good times, sad times, winning and losing, ..its all the same side of the coin. Some things i know for sure: Im not going to stop...no matter what, ....not changing my style or look...in the face of adversity...I grabbed the bull by the horns....Ill just keep growing and writing original music and maybe someday find what Im looking for..... Very grateful for all that I have and not looking back...but jumping forward.
