Uppallu Sri nivash was indeed a very different personality. Starting playing with mandolin at age of 6 year, and getting Padma Sri award just at 29th years is a great achievement. His fathers guru Subba rajoo didnt know how to play mandolin, and srenivasha himself learnt it, when his guru used to sing for him. In a very short life of 45 years, he bacame international Mandolin player, that the word Mandolin was prefixed before him. He played mandolin with practically all the major mandolin players like John Mc legluleen and Michael Brook, His loss is a great loss to carnatic music of south india specially and Indian music generally.
