Urban Conservation Specialist: • Conduct research on best global practice and the local context of Abu Dhabi that will inform the content of policy documents on protection of cultural resources in the built environment. • Assist in the development of policies, guidelines, and plans for the care, protection, conservation, and management of cultural resources in the urban environment (including the World Heritage Site and Modern Heritage), abiding by international standards and principles, in line with the conservation section’s approach, and in consultation with external and internal stakeholders. • Assist in communicating approved policies to relevant departments and section managers and assist in the dissemination of approved policies to all other staff, relevant external agencies and the public, in the appropriate manner. • Liaise with external and internal stakeholders and provide advice on developing and integrating conservation-related strategies into local and regional plans. • Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of strategies and programs for the care, protection, conservation and management of Abu Dhabi’s cultural resources in the urban environment. • Provide advice and guidance on development proposals affecting cultural resources in the urban environment as well as urban heritage. • Recommend, where required, enforcement action in the case of unauthorized works to designated cultural resources in the urban environment. • Contribute to the development and/or execution of TCA heritage-related projects whenever required. • Review and coordinate the work of consultants, and contractors appointed to assigned projects • Supervise and train UAE national personnel to work in the Section. • Formulate daily, weekly and monthly plans and ensure alignment with Departmental and authority objectives. • Prepare progress and status reports by analyzing and summarizing the information and works of assigned projects.
