Urge Your Legislators to Vote “NO” on a Farm Bill that Cuts SNAP Benefits The Farm Bill currently under consideration would cut an estimated $8.69 billion from SNAP, leading to millions of lost meals every year. In Pennsylvania, an estimated 175,000 households will lose an average of $65 per month in SNAP benefits. This equates to $136.5 million in SNAP benefits lost to the state every year. These cuts would come on top of the recent SNAP benefit reductions that impacted all SNAP participants and caused the average family of four to lose $36 per month from their benefits. TAKE ACTION! Now is the time for action! Members of the Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation MUST hear from you that a Farm Bill that cuts SNAP benefits is simply unacceptable. Call the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask to be connected to Senator Casey, Senator Toomey, and your Member of the House of Representatives to deliver this message: “The Farm Bill currently under consideration will cut SNAP benefits and disproportionately impact low-income Pennsylvanians in need of food assistance. If this bill is passed, an estimated 175,000 Pennsylvania households will lose an average of $65 in SNAP benefits every month. Food banks in our community are already struggling to meet the unprecedented need for food assistance and will not be able to make up for lost SNAP meals. A Farm Bill that cuts SNAP benefits is simply unacceptable. I urge [Senator/Congressman NAME] to vote NO on the Farm Bill.”
