Using more accurate terminology is a continual issue in the Enneagram world. As someone who once thought of the Enneagram principally as a kind of spiritual typology (which is still true when properly understood) it is not always easy to use more appropriate terms, especially when most other Enneagram teachers and students are still using type terminology. Personally I am not too fond of style or pattern (too vague and ambiguous for me) and fixation can seem more negative and pathological than it probably needs to be. I generally use Naranjos term enneatype because, as he meant by it, it is inclusive of both the personality and essence dimensions of our being. It is not just a cute or pithy way of referring to an Enneagram personality type. In my use it also more or less means the same as Enneagram archetype and in Ichazos teachings on the ego-fixations he also refers to them as forms in the Platonic sense and as archetypes in the Jungian sense.
