Using the day to work in the garden. Makes the day with everybody gone go faster. Kyle just called me to let me know they were safely in Boomington, IN, had the keys to the apartment and starting to haul stuff in for her. On the homefront, garden is pretty amazing this year. Just picked another 5 pounds of beans, a couple pounds of peas, about 20 assorted summer squash (zucchini, summer yellow and yellow crook neck). Picked another 10 green tomatoes as those friend green tomatoes were excellent last week. Also cut enough Lettuce and Kale for salads for the next week. This time of year, other than a few minor things, could live out of the garden and what I could catch. Ill need to go in the morning to see if I can get a couple more catfish as the creek was pretty clear today and could see them on the bottom. After a heavy rain, it is too cloudy to see much in the water and the water levels too high. A couple of fresh cats would be great to eat with fresh roasted vegetables and homegrown brown rice.
