Usually we don’t answer highly provocative or flammable post but on this occasion we will make exemption. Some of you sound like old grannies whining about kids playing ball despite “no ball games” sign. Your age start to show, I have no doubts about that now LOL. Youngsters at the parties are complex subject and mixture of various social and society issues, music genre mixing (multi rig events) and demise of other squat scene - ott , due to lack of security at their events – youngsters don’t want to be robbed and abused in gang and pikey infested venues, so they started to come to us, mainly looking for protection and safe squat party. We speak with them and know what is going on. Youngsters are very hot subject on every Saturday night when police arrives at venues. We as a security team have discussed this problems many times before and came to conclusion that nobody under 18, preferably nobody under 21, ideally nobody under 25 years of age should be allowed into any underground rave/squat party held in London. However at the same time we have decided not to further compromise their safety if they appear at the door. We think that is very irresponsible and dangerous to leave, for example 16 years old girl in some dirty, shady industrial estate in the middle of the night without means to get home safely. We think that is more dangerous to refuse some people then to let them in. We think that is silly to split groups, let some with ID’s in, refuse others without ID’s. During last several years at the raves in London we have witnessed various incidents involving young people after we refuse them on the grounds of their age. They will not go home, they will try to jump over fencing - that usually end up in injuries or arrests because of trespassing other operational businesses around or even in fight with security guards, wasting police and emergency services time, or they became target for local criminals etc. In order to minimise public order incidents and nuisance , we have decided to take a rather pragmatic approach and to use our judgment, if and when youngsters appear. So that means that we will take into consideration their age, location, transport availability and of course position of local law enforcement and emergency services before we make final decision to let them in or not. It is not same to refuse someone in zone 1 or zone 2 , (where every lamp post have CCTV, transport links are working and police keeps high presence) and to refuse someone in zone 5 or 6 where you have to walk miles before you reach civilization. At some events in zone 1 police checked ID with security guards at the entrance , while on some events in zone 5 police suggested us that is safer to ‘let the kids in and let security guards look after them’. In simple words potential drug overdose is better then potential rape. Events guarded by Psy Safe are safer than any other similar events. We use large numbers of security guards and first aiders, even female security guards and plane close security guards that are deployed directly into crowd. Psy Safe security had approximately. 23 - 25 guards on art of psy events, 20 on Tesla project, 16-18 on alternative waves , 20 for dystopia, 40 for shindig etc. You get a picture I guess, when Psy Safe is announced gate and venue will be heavily guarded and we seem to do it successfully. Youngsters will be obviously safer in environment with 20 + security guards then on the street alone. You cannot blame youngsters on parties on promoters either, everybody knows how old you have to be for this kind of events, so constant promoting with 18+ only will not help , because kids will turn up anyway. Some of comments made on this page are exaggerated. We never had any 13 or 14 years old crowd. We had 16 -18 years old. Every incident that occurs at the parties is believe it or not electronically recorded for purpose of Psy Safe statistic and we can’t recall any incident involving two blokes and 14 years old girl, that Danny mentioned. Just average silly rumours common to squat scene. Youngsters at parties make up to 25 % of the crowd in some liberal estimates that number is about 40%. It is not rocket science to refuse someone, but there is something called moral and consequences of your action . We have no problem refusing criminals or handing them over to police but refusing youngsters needs rethink at that particular time. As for emergency services, they are often called into action and presence of young people is known to them and police. And youngsters are reasons for increased police patrols in the area where rave is held and police makes regular walks in the venues with security guards on every single event on at least 3 occasions prior, during and after event. So nothing to hide, everything is known, police and emergency services have unrestricted access into venues at any time. Also I would like to answer some comments here. I don’t see how youngsters ‘ spoiling the atmosphere’, they just stick to their dnb techno room and have little interaction with psy trance. They don’t spoil the atmosphere , they are rarely involved in incidents. And to be honest, recently , we have more problems with some squatters, older party crew or dj’s rather than youngsters. Majority of incidents at parties are related to crew and their friends. We even have to intervene in squatters areas during party on several occasion and that areas are usually off limits to guest and security. So you can’t really say that youth spoils the atmosphere. Also what is this about babysitting? As I’m aware , only security guards handle casualties or ‘babysit guests’. You don’t need to babysit anyone, we will do that if we have to. However we have two messages for you here: We(Psy Safe) stand behind our actions and decisions . We are responsible for security and safety at events where we are. We will judge situation , because we see things from another perspective and make best possible decision taking into account people safety first. We already have to explain our actions to authorities during raves so if they gave us a nod, we don’t see why we have to explain same stuff here. Consider this subject closed, if you don’t get what we wrote there is no point to go on for any longer. Second message is that you failed to recognize rise of new age raver and multi rig culture, these youngsters are future of events. And perhaps change of generation is much appreciated and needed. Salute new generation instead asking us to ban them. Hope this makes it clear. Stay safe and see you soon. Psy Safe Security Team5 minutes ago · Sent from Mobile
