Utility committee met last Thursday... I heard it mentioned that - TopicsExpress

Utility committee met last Thursday... I heard it mentioned that the public would no longer be privy to the subject matter details until they were finalized. I was unable to attend, so I have reviewed the fist 50 minutes of the audio. Suffice it to say they do not want us to know what is in the revised GAP analyisis for the year 2020. Most figures in the reanalysis of the sewer / water GAP analysis are referred to cryptically. Between the clanking dishes and the references to the figure on the white line or the figure in the pink column one really has to work hard to take in what is being said. Regarding the sewer there were a range of cryptically noted figures from $197 - $207 - $234 per month depending on the use of grants, loans and revenue. Both Councilmen said they did not like the outcome. Mr. Putaansuu mentioned ripping the bandage off in what appeared to be about three years. It is hugely discouraging to observe the tactics used by the utility committee to keep us in the dark before they come up with a conclusion. All in all it looks like they are afraid of us learning the truth, which appears to indicate a dramatic increase in sewer rates. Personally, I think we should be privy to the information, because there are other items on the table which we are looking at... the citizens need to see the whole picture... even if it is still in a state of flux...we have to have a sense of what is coming down the pike in order to know how to respond to other requests. At this rate we are being spoon fed information as deemed beneficial. Illumining one item at a time. I will post when I have completed the rest of the audio which refers to the water portion of the annalysis. Yikes!
