ENGINEER (HV SUBSTATIONS) GRADE 14 Job Purpose: •Applies professional and technical principles associated with the provision of an engineering service to internal/external clients. Key Responsibility Areas: •Provides comments on options and alternatives associated with the High Voltage electrical transmission system. •Co-ordinates and controls tasks/activities associated with controlling personnel performance and discipline. •Provides information and guidance on the principles, procedures and applications associated with complex forms of Electrical Engineering interventions and procedures in respect of High Voltage transmission substation plant and equipment. •Applies principles and techniques associated with the development and presentation of technical designs for complex forms of electrical engineering High Voltage substation transmission systems. •Executes sequences and procedures associated with the preparation collation of contract documentation and/or providing input to support tender adjudication for complex forms of electrical engineering analysis and maintenance works and/or the procurement of specialised spares, test and high voltage substation equipment. •Applies defined standards and controls the outcomes in respect of the operation and maintenance of substation plant and equipment. •Maintains information management system records and disseminates information on the technical aspects of interventions. Essential Requirements: •Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree (Electrical) from a University accredited by the Council on Higher Education. •Eligible for immediate registration for Registration as a Candidate Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa which is required within 6 months as a condition of appointment. •Valid motor vehicle drivers licence (Code EB) Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience relevant to the electricity distribution or transmission industry.
