VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT (MAY 2014) CONTEXT: CCFN in collaboration with Catholic Relief Services CRS/Nigeria is preparing to implement the Support to Vulnerable Household (SVH) project funded by USAID Nigeria. Based in rural communities in Northern Nigeria’s and Federal Capital Territory (FCT), SVH will use a multi-sector approach that will help 42,000 very poor households (HHs) grow their agriculture production, incomes and children (through improved nutrition) and help strengthen community and government systems to support these gains. Designation SILC PROGRAM COORDINATOR Summary Job Description/Roles SILC PROGRAM COORDINATOR CCFN is seeking an SILC Program Coordinator who will provide Savings and Lending Communities technical guidance and support and assistance to partners and SVH staff, coordinate the provision of high quality, cost-effective SILC services in all SVH programs and assess and develop the capacity of targeted partners. The SILC PC will be responsible for supervising field agents and ensuring the quality of the SILC groups formed; developing FA skills and certifying them as Paid Service Providers (PSPs); overseeing their work as PSPs and organizing them into networks. The SILC PC will report to the Technical Program Director and will maintain close liaison with Income Generation Team Lead. The SILC PC will ensure adherence to CCFN technical and program quality standards in implementation and compliance by partners. Person Specification/Required Qualifications Masters degree in Business Manágement, Cooperative Management Agricultural Economics or development studies Five years of working experience in development or VSLA programs – including focus on at least one of the following sectors – income generation and livelihoods Previous experience with savings group programming helpful Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent training and facilitation skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook Experience with participatory methods and partnerships Excellent English language oral and written communication skills Fluency in Hausa language as well as experience with northern Nigerian agriculture. Willingness to be based in the field and ability to travel at least 50% of time Additional Advantage – Understanding of faith-based organizations and capacity-building in local partnerships Knowledge of CRS’ program quality standards Demonstrated commitment to improving gender equality in programming and operations.
