VACANCY: CHEF The Establishment: Lions Rest Game Lodge Town: Tweeling (North Eastern Free State) Closing Date: 25 August 2014 The Lions Rest Game Lodge is located on a poultry farm specialising in egg production. It is situated near Tweeling in the Mafube Local Municipality of the Fezile Dabi District Municipality in the Free State Province (North East). The Lions Rest Game Lodge provides the following services: • Accommodation • Catering for Weddings • Catering for Conferences • Health Hydro and Spa • Camping & Caravan Park • Game drives EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • Trained at a trade school / technikon, with degree/diploma. • Must have been involved in learnerships through culinary schools and other organizations for at least two years. JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS To prepare and cook food at the Lodge for guests, wedding and conference events, passerby diners, and other operations where required. Making sure that the kitchen is a well-oiled machine, preparing food, managing the kitchen to make sure food is prepared quickly and as delicious as possible, and enforcing food safety standards at all times. Creativity: Knowledge of ingredients and how to use them in a creative way to make sumptuous meals. Leadership Skills: In charge and manage the entire kitchen, responsible for cooking as well as with dishwashing chores. Your ability to motivate other employees in a high stress environment will help the establishment immensely. A very good Sense of Taste and Smell: Be able to prepare Delicious meals for the customers. Ensure that each piece of food is safe, prepared correctly and tasty. Time Management Skills: Ensuring that food does not get ruined easily. Great time management must help you to avoid burned or spoiled food served to unhappy customers.
