VCCV Weekly Volunteer Opportunities - • Join Hartman Reserve as a volunteer for the first annual Doggie Dash 5K. Volunteers are needed September 19 from 3:30 - 7:00 p.m. to mark the route and assist with packet pick-up and on September 20 from 6:00 – 11:00 a.m. for packet pick-up, time racers, greet participants, and assist at the water and food stations. Volunteers age 14 over are welcome. • The Black Hawk County Solid Waste Management Commission is seeking volunteers that can help lift old TVs and computers during their electronics recycling drop-off event in Cedar Falls (1500 Bluff St.) on September 27 from 7:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Volunteers age 18 and over are welcome. • The Iowa Mission of Mercy is a free dental clinic to be held on September 26 and 27 at Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center. General volunteers are needed to assist with registration, patient interview and data entry, escorting patients, interpretation, childcare, hospitality, and set-up and tear down. Volunteers age 14 and over are welcome. • Volunteer at the Alzheimers Association Walk to End Alzheimers on Saturday, September 27 from 8:00 a.m. - noon. Assistance is needed with many tasks including greeters, route guides, and advocacy concerns. Volunteers age 16 and over are welcome.
