VEGAN CHILDREN AND THE IMPORTANCE OF GOOD REASONS. Do you want - TopicsExpress

VEGAN CHILDREN AND THE IMPORTANCE OF GOOD REASONS. Do you want to know what some vegan children think? Here is your chance! https://youtube/watch?v=DZ4CuPYu228 We are glad to see that there are more and more children raised in antiespeciesism. But we would also want to see that the antispeciesist education is as less unclear as it can be. We have in mind that little girl who states we must not kill trees because they have life, or that other argument which sustains that we should not eat eggs because hens want progeny. We will debate the first of this mistaken ideas not to write a long text. We know that, when we write a lot, you dont read us :P Antispeciesism does not involve respect for every kind of life. Antispeciesism involves respect for those entities who have consciousness and therefore can have positive and negative experiences (pleasure and suffering). Trees are not that kind of entities. If we dont fight for a rational education based on evidence and good reasons for children and people, their antispeciesism wont be solid (in fact, it wont be antispeciesism but a bunch of dark beliefs which would always be at the edge of breaking down). How long it will take this girl to realize that, if trees cannot be “killed”, lettuces or onions shouldnt be “killed” too? How long it will take her to realize that she cannot live without “killing” some alive entities? If this child thinks that veganism is not to end any kind of live, it wont take long to conclude that veganism is impossible. This is an example of the importance of conceptual and argumentative clarity, of good reasons, that our spread of antispeciesism should never lack. These good reasons are sometimes underestimated, and approaches based in empathy only are often preferred to rational arguments of this kind. In the future, the girl of the video would have to face a choice between her empathy towards animals and her empathy towards vegetables, and the right answer to this dilemma will be provided by a rational and ethical thinking, based on good reasons and evidences. We want to recommend you a wonderful source to get information about arguments for a complete moral consideration of non-human sentient animals. https://facebook/pages/Animal-Ethics/1424658461139957?fref=ts * If you want to sponsor an animal (from 10€/month) * If you want to be our partner (from 5€/month) * Or if you want to join the volunteer team, write to: -----------------> santuariovacaloura@gmail
