Audition Address: The Bernie Legge Theatre, Queens Park, New Westminster Rehearsals begin in February 2014. Schedule TBA after play has been cast This is Vagabond Player’s entry into the Theatre BC - Greater Vancouver Zone Festival, May 2014 at Metro Theatre, Vancouver, and possibly the Theatre BC Mainstage festival early July 2014 in Kamloops. Actors will be expected to be committed to mid-May and possibly mid-July, 2014. Required: CONSTANCE: Woman in her late 20s-mid 30s. Studious and quiet. Described as mouse-like. Plus four actors who double/triple, etc. as necessary to cover the remaining roles: DESDEMONA/RAMONA: Woman in her Early-mid 20s. Fierce, independent, and strong. JULIET/JULIE: Woman in her early 20s. Young, naive, and always falling in love. ROMEO/IAGO: Man early-mid 20s. Romeo is naive, impatient and a romantic. Iago is cold calculating and a sociopath. TYBALT/PROFESSOR CLAUDE NIGHT: Man 30-40s. Tybalt is quick to anger, aggressive, and hostile. Night is manipulative, egotistical, and narcissistic. MERCUTIO/OTHELLO: Mid 20s-Mid 30s. Mercutio is boisterous, loud, and hot-headed. Othello is egotistical, droning, and suspicious. CHORUS/GHOST: Man, or woman 20s-40s. The Chorus is smooth, charming, and suave. The ghost is maniacal, convoluted, and crazy. JULIETS NURSE/SERVANT/SOLDIER OF CYPRUS: Man or woman 20s-40s. Juliets nurse is unashamed, funny, and boisterous. Servant is quiet, timid, and simpering. Soldier is decisive, commanding, and authoritative. Actors will be seen on a first-come first served basis. Please bring a résumé and headshot to the audition. Cold read from the script.
