VERY IMPORTANT!!!! SPREAD THE WORD!!! FACEBOOK IS NOW ATTEMPTING TO CHARGE ARTISTS FOR POSTING ON FACEBOOK!!!! UPDATE ON FACEBOOK SHUTTING DOWN MY TuTchT PAGE and GOING AFTER THIS PAGE -------- CORPORATE GREED!!!! - ALL ARTIST WILL BE CHARGED for their followers to see their posts!!!!! When I realized yesterday that the responses to my posts had dropped by 90% in the days since Facebook oh so kindly killed my page and turned it into a business page - I realized Facebook had done several things in this new move that prevents me from communicating directly with my 4,000 plus followers (unless they write on my page first) --- THEN I saw a tab called Boost Post - in short they wanted me to pay $60 to allow that post to reach more of my followers. WHAT??????!!!!!!!! These new changes, plus the Real Names Only policy are a way to make artists pay to have their posts read by their followers because they are promoting. In short - Facebook is screwing artists and creators of all types!!! I recommend that ALL OF OUR DANCE FAM, STREET ART FAM, ACTORS, POETS, MODELS, PHOTOGRAPHERS, GRAPHIC ARTISTS, DESIGNERS, ENGINEERS, MAKE-UP ARTISTS, GALLERY OWNERS, (ANY Business owner for that matter, if you mention your business on your page,) VOCALISTS, INSTRUMENTALISTS, COMPOSERS, WRITERS of all ilk, AND PROBABLY EVEN CLERGY and those actively engaged in NON-PROFIT WORK --- ALL CREATIVES do the following: 1) Move your base of social-media operations to Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, etc. 2) MAKE YOUR FEELINGS ABOUT THIS SHIFT KNOWN - even if they havent sent you a shut down notice yet!!! THEY WILL!!!!! No More Promotions just cat videos and pictures of what you ate for lunch (assuming you arent in the above categories.. - And just so you know the other damage done when they switch you to a business page - You cant tag your work if it appears on another page uncredited. You cant like or comment on anything posted on anyone elses page. (because all your friends have been turned into just page likes - you are not in their friends list, and you have no friends list. You can keep the images you have posted, but all likes and comments will be erased from them. All your personal message archives will not make the shift either. I personally lost over 100,000 likes and comments from all friends, fam and fans of my work --- some very sentimental and meaningful words, and some comments of support from very important people in the Industries in which I work - Half a decade of building a page with evidence that my work has a following and a cache of importance from my peers. ALL WIPED AWAY! And Facebook is not only making me start that 6 year process over again, from scratch… THEY ARE DEMANDING I PAY FOR THE PRIVILEGE????!!!!!! You guys may be tired of my rants and raves about this…because it happened to me & hasnt happened to you…yet. Im looking at the 9 friends showing on my page to the left, and ALL of them fall into the category defined by Facebook as promoting real talk!
