VERY IMPORTANT TIP Did you know that it is cheaper to build your house with quarry dust than to build with sand? Did you also know that quarry dust has a stronger bond than sand? Did you know that quarry dust is more consistent than sand? The list goes on and on. If you drive in Area 49 new building site you will notice many sites have hips of quarry dust. Whilst most of those hips could be for making cement blocks many are for building the houses. I remember one day I walked in at Terrastone head office and had a chat with the owner and I told him that if he could reduce the price of quarry dust he could eliminate the competition which is sand. I said to him that sand is the competition for his quarry dust. I also pointed out to him that if quarry dust could be easily accessible many people would stop building their houses with sand. I dont know if he saw the opportunity there. Somebody asked me, Ted if you could get a lot of money today what would you buy? My answer was I would buy a stone crusher and I would be very wealthy in Malawi. I would reduce the price of quarry dust which is a waste and educate Malawians on the benefits of building with quarry dust than sand. And the government would love me because I would help to save our rivers. I would sell the quarry dust at reasonable price and make building with quarry dust and cement blocks more affordable. So in a nut shell if you are building, you should consider building with quarry dust. A three bedroom house would require 50 tons of quarry dust to build with. Two trips of 25 tons and you get exactly what you pay for.
