VERY URGENT, PLEASE SHARE: We need your help more than ever - we have two cats, Roo and Blackie, who both desperately need surgery next week to the tune of $6000 + between them. Please read below for their stories, and help us help them. We dont want to have to cancel the surgeries for lack of funds. ROOS STORY: CRIPPLED CAT FOUND NEXT TO CROSSTOWN ARTERIAL DESERVES A CHANCE TO WALK This sweet little tortoisehell cat (hers is the top picture) was found lying in the parking lot of Wallnuts Climbing Centre recently, likely as the result of a car accident. No owner came forward to claim Roo, so she would have been euthanized had we not stepped up to take responsibility for her. Roo cant walk - she is dragging her back legs. Roo is a happy cat, however, and the vet clinic has fallen in love with her. She is still using the bathroom normally, so her bladder obviously wasnt harmed in the accident. Youd be surprised how much Roo can get around with just the use of her front legs! However, who wouldnt want to walk rather than crawl if given the chance? Roo deserves to be as mobile as possible - please help us provide her with the surgery she needs! Roos vet wants to do a surgery that would take care of any pain she might be in, and will give her mobility. She may not be able to walk perfectly, but it should be a great improvement over how she is now. Roo has already cost us a small fortune, and is scheduled for surgery on Monday, Aug. 18th at a cost of $3500-$3700, and every day she is at the clinic has, and will continue to cost us, $110 - her final vet tally will no doubt come to over $6000. Shes been seen by two vet clinics, and had a lot of diagnostics done. We dont want to have to reschedule her surgery for lack of funds - shes been waiting long enough. BLACKIES STORY: ABANDONED CAT NEEDS HIP SURGERY Blackie came to us recently in an absolute mess. She was picked up by a local pound, whose animal control officer was told by the people feeding her that she had been abandoned by her owners some time ago, and had been living out of a box. Poor Blackie was full of fleas (and anemic as a result), matted to the skin, and very painful in her back end; she is hospitalized and is on pain killers. X-rrays were done, and it was discovered that she has a bad hip for which she needs surgery. Blackie is scheduled to have surgery on her bad hip on Monday at a cost of $2000-$2500 HOW TO HELP ROO AND BLACKIE CAN YOU FOSTER ONE OF THESE GIRLS POST-OP?
