VERY fruitful weekend – caught up on dishes and really cleaned - TopicsExpress

VERY fruitful weekend – caught up on dishes and really cleaned counter by the kitchen sink, also working on cleaning up my toaster oven and the stove. Made two really great salads – potato salad with pesto, mayonnaise, and onion with spicy adobo seasoning. Broad rice noodles with wilted napa cabbage and halved grape tomatoes dressed with black sesame oil, rice vinegar, Filipino garlic chili sauce (hot and sweet), and a splash of soy. I soaked small white beans for a lamb/bean dish that Ill make tomorrow. I checked in the refrigerator freezer for more stuff to use for soups and stew and small leftovers that I can get rid of to make room. I pulled out a spaghetti sauce packet to thaw so that I can make a couple of spaghetti/pasta for lunches this week. I also checked to see what was still in the small chest freezer that I have and Im using that stuff up. I caught up on laundry, including my two lightweight washable winter coats even washing the bathroom and dogs rugs and towel – remembering to do them last and then running an empty load on hot thereafter. I unclogged my bathroom sink and scrubbed it and did the mirror in my bathroom and started scrubbing the shower. I changed the catbox, using the spare that I scrubbed clean and emptied and soaked the dirty one. I cleared off the top of the chest freezer and got a batch of stuff to sort out from the kitchen/pantry. I worked on the front garden, and the side of the house, and clipping down young trees and Rose of Sharon, pulling out ground ivy from the rock area out front, and working on re-edging the curve around the rock area. I put aside some plants that I got from my friend, Lee Nelson and some from my garden to expand the garden that I have between my neighbors John and Marcia – I am trying to make it so that they have something nice to look at, too! I have liriope, a variegated hosta or two, ferns, some black stem peppermint from my garden and maybe a thyme plant and a fern or two, as well as some more lambs ears from my garden out front. Im tired!
