VICTORIA BECKHAM BEHIND THE TILLS? YOU BET! I wanted to evolve my signature dress said Victoria Beckham of her new collection which featured elongated, looser linen versions of the frocks that form the bedrock of her business. With Brooklyn and her husband David in the front row, she expanded her repertoire to include sporty knitted tank dresses, lean midi skirts slit high at the front and back and belted frocks with military pockets. There was also a loose linen black and white onesie, although Victoria preferred to call it a jumpsuit. Another innovation? Her first self designed shoe range (previously shed worked with Manolo Blahnik). It was really important for me to do my own shoes this season so I could really finish off my silhouette. She said of the clunky velvet platforms and pointy pony skin flats. With her first shop about to open later this month, this collection was unashamedly commercial. I want to show clothes that can go from the catwalk onto people, she said, adding, Its what my customers want. The store was something shed dreamt of having for a long time and she plans to be very hands on, doing one on one appointments with select customers. Will she be behind the tills too? Behind the tills, who knows, maybe on the door, and Brooklyn can be a Saturday boy, she said and I dont think she was joking. I love retail she said. Absolutely I am going to have a presence. This is important to me. I want people to come in and experience the brand through my eyes
