VICTORY!!! SB-50 past the Senate yesterday making it legal for Virginia animal lovers to keep their pets that are on the ESA list. It past the Senate unopposed and there were only four delegates who voted against it in the House of Delegates. They are Futrell, Herring, Rasoul and Toscano. First two are N.VA Rasoul is in Roanoke! The entire bird club in Roanoke should write him and not vote for him if he persist in this line of thinking. I doubt that he knows there is even a bird club in Roanoke and he was hurting his own constituents. Now it is legal to have your Blue Throat macaws, Moluccan cockatoo, Queens and more in the state of VA. It will also be legal to keep your Hyacinths, Scarlets, Military and Buffons macaws and Umbrella cockatoos if they are added to the ESA list. The state law is now inline with the federal law. We need to change similar laws in other states, so that my bird loving friends are not criminals. The laws on the books do not exempt shelters or veterinarians.
