VIDPROD 3 FINAL PROJECT TOPIC: Animation Animation, as what we all know, is a series of drawings made by animators to make a movie or a tv show. Animation is a way in which the cartoons are drawn by animators (every movement of a character) and making them come to life through 2D or 3D artworks. There are lots of good animation companies around the world and to name some are Disney, Pixar and Nickelodeon. These companies produce outstanding works that fascinates the audiences and takes them to another dimension. The big question is, where does Philippines stand among these top companies? Some Filipinos work in Pixar (Finding Nemo and UP for instance) and who knows, others are working in different companies as well. The reason why they left Philippines to work abroad is because they want to hone their talents to its full potential however, there are some animation studios in the Philippines too namely Toon City Animation, Cutting Edge Production and Philippine Animation Studio Inc. However, these companies are not yet well-known because when we talk about animation, the first thing that comes to the minds of the people are Disney, Nickelodeon, Dreamworks and the likes (which are popular). Therefore, I chose this topic to discuss about how a certain animation company started, the hardships they encountered and what makes them different among other animation companies particularly in the Philippines.
