Michael Jordans North Shore mansion to be auctioned Friday Michael Jordan’s 56,000-square-foot mansion in Highland Park — complete with an NBA regulation-size basketball court — will be put up for sale during a live auction Friday. No minimum bid has been set for the basketball superstar’s 7.4-acre estate at 2700 Point Lane, but prospective buyers are required to put down a $250,000 deposit just to participate in the bidding, said Laura Brady, president of New York-based Concierge Auctions.Originally placed on the market in March 2012, the fully furnished “Legend Point” estate failed to sell for its listing price of $29 million. At the time, it was the highest-priced home in the Chicago area, with the tax bill on the property set at $178,900 in 2012, according to public records. These properties are impossible to value, other than having competition and buyers interested in purchasing them. … It’s worth the highest value that buyers are willing to pay for it.” Jordan still uses the home but spends most of his time at another residence in Florida, she said.
