VIENNA - Adam Kline tallied his team-leading 13th double-double of the season Saturday to power Alderson Broaddus University past Ohio Valley University, 82-63, in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action. The Battlers improved their record to 16-5 overall and 9-1 in conference play with the win. Kline matched his season-high scoring total with 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. He was 8 of 11 from the field, hit all eight of his free throws and swiped three steals. Malcolm Tatum, Thylas Perkins and Richard Lemon all finished with double digits in scoring. Tatum scored 17 points, while Perkins and Lemon contributed 13 points each. Gerald McDonald and Austin Parker paced the Fighting Scots with 11 points each. ABU will host Bluefield State College at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Salem International 89, D&E 80 SALEM - Courtney Pitts ripped the Senator defense for 21 points Saturday to help Salem International earn the G-MAC victory. Freshman Wesley Sprinkle nailed a 3-pointer to ignite a 16-2 run by the Senators in the first half. However, a pair of treys by Pitts cut the Senator lead to 35-32. D&E closed the stanza with four points to take a 39-32 lead at intermission. After a quick start to the second half by D&E, SIU responded with a 15-6 run to bring the game within two points, 49-47. The Tigers hit another streak later in the half to go up, 67-59. D&E trimmed the deficit to four points but couldnt generate enough offense to secure the victory. Devin Miller paced the Senators with 18 points. Juwan Strothers added 15 points. Walter Brock (17), Jamal Robinson (16) and Alex Webb (10) reached double figures for Salem D&E will visit West Virginia State at 7:30 p.m. today. Womens Games D&E 74, Salem 62 SALEM - Stephanie Wooten hit a game-high 19 points to lead Davis & Elkins past Salem International Saturday in G-MAC play. Sharmaine Baker added 16 points for the Senators. Marissa Carey led the Tigers with 18 points. Inerka Patterson added 13 and Tashay Smith 10. The Senators will host Kentucky Wesleyan at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Ohio Valley 54, AB 47 VIENNA - Ohio Valley defeated Alderson Broaddus Saturday in G-MAC action. Sydney Shaffer led ABU with 12 points. Shelby Way scored a team-high 17 points for the Fighting Scots.
