VLC parents (and all parents, especially Christian Parents) Start demanding your child show respect to others, teach them yes sir and yes maam. Refuse to allow them to use cuss words. Teach them excellence by making them keep a clean room and clean house. Dont let them play video games and watch tv or hang on the internet while you do all of the housework, you are not their maid or butler, Screen their friends, disallow bad associations. Dont let them manipulate you with their words or guilt trips or threats, do not give them an allowance for doing their part around the home, teach them to go above and beyond any task, talking back and shouting at you the parent is not permitted or tolerated, do not make threats you will not follow through on,....Remember who is the CHILD and who is the PARENT! Teach them godly habits (by example) , they will attend church (non of this I dont want to force them stuff), have bible reading and prayer with them (beginning as toddlers and continuing into teen years), There is to much at risk to just wing it and be inconsistent in parenting!
