Police thrash civil administration officials Police Friday morning allegedly thrashed Additional Commissioner Srinagar GM Dar and other civil officials on the Boulevard when they were trying to hire boats for rescue operations in the flooded City. Dar said police didnt allow him to hire boats on priority for public use. “They asked me to wait till they would hire boats of their choice for their bosses. But when we objected pleading that people were in dire need of the boats, they thrashed us and finally kicked us into waters,” the officials of the civil administration said while showing bruises. They said as if this was not enough some senior police officials who were camping at the Nehru Park Police Post too joined in and beat them to pulp. Officials said the situation turned so vulnerable for them that they had to run for cover without hiring rescue boats.
