VOD 02/28/14: Place Faith Above Feelings. Verse: Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if anyone draws back, My soul shall have no pleasure in them. Thought: Human emotions are highly variable, decidedly unpredictable, and often unreliable. Our emotions are like the weather, only far more fickle. So we must learn to live by faith. When anger and fear grip us, they separate us from the spiritual blessings that God has in store for us and we must rethink our priorities and renew our faith. Then we must place faith above feelings. When you feel a strong and negative emotion, resist it and reign it in. Turn it over to God. Your emotions will inevitably change. Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit renew our faith in You, Your will, and Your plans for our lives. Teach us how to hold our negative emotions in check and look for positive things to bolster our spirits. Strengthen our trust in You that You will fulfill Your promises and give us the courage to withstand the rigors of life here on Earth.
