Penn State students pitched tents at Beaver Stadiums Gate A the day after the Nittany Lions win over Minnesota to position themselves for prime seats for the prime time showdown. By Thursday afternoon more than 110 temporary residences had been set up at the encampment, dubbed Paternoville by the tent dwellers. ESPN GameDay set up shop in front of the Bryce Jordan Center and chronicled the rise of the tent city on its Friday and Saturday segments. By the time the gates opened on Saturday, the atmosphere created by sheer anticipation couldnt have been more electric. Five minutes into the second quarter, Derrick Williams scored on a 13-yard run to cap a nine play, 74-yard drive and give Penn State a 7-3 lead. The Lions never trailed again. Ohio State had one final chance to drive and score a game-tying touchdown, but Tamba Hali forced a game-saving fumble. The loose ball was recovered by Scott Paxon and the Nittany Lions ran out the clock to the delight of a delirious home crowd.
