Vacuum tubes have pretty much disappeared from North Jersey with the exception of high end audio equipment and a few older radios and TVs that are still here. These tubes were manufactured by RCA in Harrison in a factory where the two founders of Two Guys operated a lunch counter where they made the contacts that enabled them to start what is now Vornado REIT. When I went to work in Harrison over 30 years ago RCA was already gone forever ftom Harrison. I sometimes wonder if the young people today would have the patience to wait for the tubes to warm up, and just imagine how huge computers and cell phones would be if they used tubes.
