Workshop is led by award winning, internationally acclaimed dance artist scholar, instructor, ethnologist, and archaeologist, Farima Berenji. Farima will lead you in rituals celebrating the grace and joy of life through dance and movement and in a time when people lived in harmony with each other and with nature. She has spent her lifetime traveling the Silk Road where she has lived, researched, excavated and documented various Persian and Central Asian methodology, nomadic cultures, sacred rituals, animals, movement, poetry, expression. Farima is an exceptionally inspiring instructor and is the award-winning recipient of United Nation. She has been recognized by UNESCO as one of a few world experts and scholars of ancient Persian dance and history. She travels worldwide to research, lecture, perform, educate, and to inspire dynamic creativity and rejuvenation through dance and movement. Farimas vision is to bring back the light and the power of the divine feminine, through dance, education, and a sense of wonder and reverence; most importantly to keep the great ancient history of these dances alive. All of Farimas teaching come from years of research and intensive archeological excavations. She will teach her own original findings, methods, techniques, and exercises to teach the connection between the soul and movement and what make an ARTIST instead of just a dancer. Learn how dance depict the creation of the Universe through a spinning series of fantastic formations, metamorphoses, and rhythmic dance. Farima is the artistic director of Simorgh Dance Collective-Farima Dance Company and the founder and director of the “Lioness” project, the “Awakening” project, the Poetry in Motion project and “Dance Dialogue” project.
