Varsity Girls Softball (30-5-3) fought for the Regional Championship on Saturday at Carleton Airport. After being down 3-5 with 2 outs in the 7th inning and no one on base, Kelsey Rendell started the rally with a double. Katie Martin followed with a RBI single and then scored from 1st base on a RBI double from Kylie Hill to help win the Championship. In the Semi Final vs. Battle Creek Harper Creek, Tecumseh won 13-0 in 5 innings. Emily Maves (17-2) went 4 innings striking out 4 and allowing only 1 hit. Kayla Kormos pitched the 5th inning striking out 1. Tecumseh was led by McKenzie Rowe, Kylie Hill and Morgan Monahan who had 2 hits each. Every Tecumseh batter reached base in the game as the team had 10 hits and drew 8 walks. In the Final vs. Carleton Airport, Tecumseh won 8-5 in 10 innings. Emily Maves (18-2) went all 10 innings striking out 21 and walking 7. She allowed 5 hits. Tecumseh was led by a cast of players as Katie Martin had 4 hits and Mattie Wright, McKenzie Rowe, Kelsea Kaliszuk, and Kelsey Rendell all added 3 hits apiece. The 2-time state champion Indians advance to the State Quarterfinals in Battle Creek on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. vs. 6-time state champs Stevensville Lakeshore.
