Verily, in the Messenger of Allah, you have the most perfect example. {33: 21} It is in the Quran itself to take guidance from both the Quran and the uswah of the Prophet (S). So when we take a hukm/rule, we not only take the Quran, we also see how the Prophet had done it, i.e what the Sunnah is, regarding that. For eg. the Quran only asks as to establish prayer, but to know HOW to pray, and WHEN to pray, we take guidance from the Sunnah. And hence, it is the same in all matters - whether its law, politics, social dealings, personal life or anything else for that matter. And actually when we look at it deeply we realize that, that is basically the whole point of sending a Prophet: to show to us how it is done. Sallallaahu alaihee wa sallam.
