Very Thoughtful response to one of my favorite non-profts. My heart is deeply saddened by the events. My heart is broken and deeply frustrated by the pastors who bullied World Vision into exclusion. I long for the day when the church will finally understand Gods heart and joyfully welcome LGBT friends into the fullness of Gods kingdom. It is even more heartbreaking to know that evangelical Christians would stop helping children in poverty because an organization decided to be inclusive of all of Gods children. To believe in the Bible is to believe in the heart of Jesus Christ to welcome and affirm all people - please learn the context of the Bible before you use it to justify your personal preference of exclusion. I wish the Church was not being on the wrong side of history again. To my wonderful LBGT friends, please know how dearly I love. Times like these I want to leave the church, but am reminded that there is hope for something new; hope that one day all Christians will be able to affirm the sacred worth of all of Gods Children. If I didnt feel some strange sense of a call to ministry in the church, I would join many of my peers in leaving the church. Justice and equality for all means standing in solidarity on the side of inclusion. There is no doubt in my heart that Jesus affirms LGBT friends to be who they are, and to joyfully participative in his work - especially in fighting poverty. One day change will come fully in the church; until then we fight, we cry, we hold each other, we walk together, and we pray for Gods will to come for all to truly find a place at the table. #fullinclusion
