Very eventful last night at home before I leave for work tomorrow, I was just casually driving to cairns when I seen a set of eyes up ahead, naturally I slowed down so I didnt hit someones pet, on closer inspection it was an injured deer, I pulled up just past it, I put my hazard lights and work lights on so I could be seen, I got out and looked at the deer, whose back legs were lame, no doubt from an encounter with traffic, I attempted too shoo it off the road to no avail, so I got a little closer and gave it a nudge on the rump, it got up took a few steps towards the safe side of the road, then things took a severe turn for the worse in the blink of an eye, I went to shop the deer one last time to get it off the road, it panicked and took a quick burst of partial steps into the oncoming traffic into the direct path of a speeding oncoming truck, the rest is pretty obvious, it quickly became a recovery of a large bag of roadkill so it wasnt a road hazard for other drivers...
