Rabena yostor ■■ MSCI: Investors still have difficulty taking Egypt funds out The New-York based index provider has yet to get feedback on the Egyptian central bank’s decision to pay cash owed to foreign investors, according to MSCI Index Research Executive Director. MSCI hasn’t made a decision on potential reclassification for its Egypt index, but plans to publish their assessment in June. International investors say that it’s still very difficult to get foreign currency out of the country. MSCI stated that they “have to consider whether the situation has gotten better or worse over the last year to determine if Egypt is better suited for emerging or frontier status.” (Bloomberg, 2-Apr-14)
