Very interesting debate to say the least. We will be doing some research into these people to see what they have accomplished since this event. I have to say though my initial thoughts about the debate are: 1) How ignorant Americans can be about other cultures and countries 2) How difficult it can be to remove the power of conviction and personal beliefs. Makes it difficult to have objective and logical arguments about things like religion 3) Mostly I see this shows clearly how our basic need to belong, our inate feeling of spiritual connection, has been corrupted by men seeking power. There will be more to come on this issue, because I believe we all need to look at our beliefs and where we learned to believe in them. Just a simple point of fact though, when something is spoken in a house of worship, by any religious leader, and the words and the person who spoke them are not condemned by the owner of that house of worship, that becomes part of the belief system for that religion. Not judging, just saying!
