Very long day yesterday……700 miles, 23 dogs and 21 cats!! Just can’t say enough about my awesome friend, Rita Christie who not only rode with me and drove back but she took 17 of those dogs into her rescue!! You are amazing lady!! I could not have done anything to get these babies to safety without the rescues that take them in, vet them and find them their great forever homes. Thank you Toni King for lending me that huge crate and making certain that I got it in time. We just took one of the large ones you lent me but you can see all the dogs that fit into it…..perfect!! Thank you to Trish Carney for finding a great forever home for the absolutely adorable Beagle girl at Pike. Kelley VanGilder who drove to meet transport to add a new member to her family and also pick up her friend. And Cathy Pirman who connected everyone to help get their new family members. Thanks to Lawrence County Dog Shelter….our first stop. They had so many volunteers to help get the animals ready and load up. It made the job so much easier and Kelly and Melissa at Lawrence who directed everything. Those ladies know what they are doing! And thank you to Missy who was behind the scenes helping the entire time. A big thank you to Wayne and Julie at Pike who always do an amazing job of making sure their dogs get out of the pound! They are 2 fantastic people who I am so happy to have had the opportunity to get to know. I don’t want to leave out my thank you to Stephanie and Christine with Rescue Me Ohio. Without this amazing organization they created, I would not be able to do what I do to everyday to help the shelter animals. Thanks again everyone…..Love you all!!
