Very often on Facebook, people post about how they have an illness - TopicsExpress

Very often on Facebook, people post about how they have an illness or are feeling unwell for whatever reason and that is fine, but also other people sometimes comment negatively about them as feeling sorry for themselves or just looking for sympathy. They will not be able to comment like that about me as this posting will be about how well i am. A couple of Mondays ago i had my flu jab for this winter, i need the flu jab as i have a compromised immune system. The nurse told me i was due a blood pressure check which i had the next day. My blood pressure was 114 over 72 which apparently is very good. I told the nurse that i was happy about my weight as i now weigh 12 stone and 1lb and she asked my height and then went onto work out my BMI (Body Mass Index). My BMI was 21.2 and i remembered that a couple of years ago my Doctor had checked it and said my ideal BMI was between 21 and 25, so i am just within my perfect BMI range. Again the nurse said i was due my 6 monthly blood tests and so the following Monday i had 3 capsules of blood taken - always makes me tired having that much blood taken. The Wednesday just gone i went to see one of the practice nurses to get my results. I need 6 monthly blood tests as i have a certain disability and have to take regular medicine which can affect certain body functions but everything was fine. My thyroid function was fine, my kidney function was fine also fine was my vitamin D, iron and my blood count. The only negative was that my Potassium measurement was 5.7 and ideally you should be 5 or below but even that was not too bad as i had previously been 6 and 6.5. Importantly the main medication i am on has to be checked in regards to what level of the medicine is in my blood and this was excellent as my level was 0.59 and the therapeutic range is between 0.4 and 1.00 and so i was comfortably within the range. It has been a very long time since my disability made me extremely unwell, infact as September has now passed i have been very, very well for 9 years. My Peer Support role is going extremely well and is being extended and i am still doing my voluntary work and that is going very well indeed, generally everything is wonderful at the moment.
